Description

The Temple of Vesta, identified with Greek Hestia, housed the eternal fire that represented the hearth of Rome. The Vestal Virgins, priestesses chosen from among the noble families of Rome at a tender age, tended the flame: it was considered a catastrophic omen should the fire go out.

That's not the Temple of Castor and Pollux as you had originally named this picture... that looks more like the adjacent Temple of Vesta, but still an excellent photo
