Many-eyed Polyphemus

Morpho polyphemus, or White Morpho, native to Mexico and Central America, here sitting on a branch in the Cotswolds Butterfly Farm, Stratford-Upon Avon (Oxfordshire, England). It's "eyes" on the wings are there to scare predators into thinking it larger than it actually is.
